Littlethorpe Manor

February 2019 - to be confirmed

Take a walk with the Head Gardener and enjoy the sights and scents of winter in the grounds of Littlethorpe Manor. On the tour particular attention will be paid to garden structure and winter colour, with highlights provided by flowering shrubs such as Hamamelis, Viburnums, Daphnes and Lonicera. Striking winter silhouettes, skeletal shapes and seedheads feature in the main garden, set against a background of evergreen and deciduous hedges. In the parkland, Winter aconites and Snowdrops carpet the ground under tall beeches. Nearby, the Winter Arboretum is planted with trees chosen for their colourful bark, with a copse of white Himalayan Birch to one side. The tour will culminate with a walk through the Winter Garden, filled with vibrant Dogwood stems and structural Beech hedging, underplanted with Luzula, Ericas, Bergenias and Hellebores.

Afterwards, hot drinks, cake and biscuits will be served in the Orangery. Warm clothing and waterproof footwear is essential.

Only one date available, each limited to 20 tickets.
